I took the photo of Jake. I use the umbrella to diffuse the light because I want to create a soft shadow on his face. In the first picture, he looks kind of blue, which is based on my understanding of him. But in the second picture, he looks positive and cute. while taking the photos, I keep the inverse square law in mind. I move the camera far from Jack, so that to create a soft light.
